Quarterly Priorities from April to June 2026 |

Following review, our quarterly priorities are as follows; This update outlines the progress made on the community priorities set for your area by the Local Policing Inspector John TROUP in collaboration with the Safer Neighbourhood Supervisors, Sgt Chris GRANT and PCSO Supervisor Karl MILLWARD. Community priorities are reviewed and set on a quarterly basis, guiding the focus of the Safer Neighbourhood Team’s activity, in this update, you’ll find: New priorities are determined by analysing local crime trends and incorporating feedback from you, the community, through engagement events, surveys and direct contact. The previous priorities were: - Hathersage – Burglary, Shed Breaks, Speeding, Off-road motorbikes and vehicles Tideswell, Litton, Baslow & Beeley – Speeding and offroad motorbikes and vehicles Bakewell – Parking Stanton & Youlgreave, White Peak Villages – Speeding Darley Dale & Winster – Speeding, Vehicle Antisocial Behaviour in DFS carpark Action Taken: In relation to Burglary & Shed breaks we have led on enforcement activity by conducting both high-visibility and plain clothed patrols, alongside proportionate stop searches of individuals and vehicles. Community events have been held in the area and surrounding villages to provide crime prevention advice and for awareness. Social media and Derbyshire Alert messages have been sent out to make the community aware and provide crime prevention advice. One-to-one visits with victims to assist with target hardening and increase security. Outcomes: Action Taken: In relation to Speeding, numerous checks have been carried out by Safer Neighbourhood Team officers, Roads Policing, Community Speedwatch groups and CREST. Community Speedwatch has been promoted on our Social Media channels and Derbyshire Alert looking for replacement / new co-ordinators and new volunteers. Town councils have also publicised through their communication channels to encourage more volunteers and set up new groups where they weren’t already in place. Outcomes: 26 drivers reported for speeding offences A further 16 drivers given strong words of advice re their speed Another driver stopped re speeding was also found to have no valid test certificate and was summonsed at roadside for both offences. Community Speedwatch issued 4 advisory letters to drivers found to be speeding and their details recorded on police systems Action Taken: In relation to offroad motorbikes and vehicle breaks we have led on enforcement activity by conducting both high-visibility and plain clothed patrols, alongside proportionate stop searches of individuals and vehicles. Warning letters have been sent to the registered keepers of vehicles seen involved in the anti-social behaviour when we have been unable to speak to them in person. We have also had regular communications with complainants and landowners. Colleagues from Matlock SNT and our Drone unit have also assisted with this operation. Outcomes: Numerous people spoken to and given words of advice in relation to their actions if they were to be caught committing anti-social behaviour in the area. Letters sent out to registered keepers of vehicles we have been unable to speak to. Vehicle details recorded on police systems. Reduction in complaints in relation to the matter. Action Taken: In relation to parking we have conducted high-visibility patrols in problem areas and issued advisory notices where we, as police, have no powers to issue tickets. We have liaised with Civil Enforcement Officers in relation to problem areas they can enforce. We have publicised on social media and Derbyshire Alert which agency is responsible for enforcement for parking issues and how to report. Outcomes: 2 advice notices Words of advice given to several drivers re parking on ‘Access Only’ roads Ticket issued to a vehicle parked on a solid white line system in Bakewell. Numerous tickets issued for parking on solid white line systems in other problem areas across Bakewell Safer Neighbourhood Team beat area
Action Taken: In relation to anti-social behaviour in DFS carpark we have implemented a Partnership Problem Solving Plan in collaboration with key members of the Community Safety Partnership. This plan takes a holistic approach to addressing issues around anti-social behaviour with all partners working towards a shared objective while taking responsibility for their respective areas of focus. Regular patrols have been conducted by police throughout the evening following store closure. Any vehicles present have been noted on police systems. Drivers have been spoken to and given appropriate advice as to what would happen if they were found to be committing anti-social behaviour as per reports. Response and Roads policing made aware to pay passing attention when passing on patrol. Outcomes: Problem Solving Plan created with Community Safety Partnership taking the lead in liaising with land owners Landowners have implemented their own security on site following store closure Details of vehicles found to be in the carpark, during patrols, have been recorded on police systems along with driver details. Frequency of reports relating to the matter have significantly reduced in comparison to the previous quarter. These outcomes reflect our continued commitment to tackling issues and maintain community safety through proactive policing.
